Where did you purchase?

Your receipt is the best starting point. The app on your phone is not always the company charging you.

How to cancel subscriptions without losing the thread

First, make a short list of the services you want to review. Use a recent receipt, account billing screen, or statement to identify the merchant and account involved. Record the next renewal date if one is shown. Keep the details in your own notes; this website does not need your card information, account credentials, or copies of your financial records.

If a plan is missing from one account, check whether you signed up with another email address, Apple Account, or Google account. A work subscription may be managed by a workspace owner rather than by you. If the charge relates to a bundle, understand which services cancellation affects before making the change.

Canceling, uninstalling, and deleting are different

Removing an app only removes software from your device. To stop renewal, use the purchase platform’s subscription controls. Deleting a provider account can have different consequences from turning off renewal, and can make it harder to recover information. Where available, follow the dedicated cancellation process and read the final confirmation before deleting anything.

How to verify that cancellation worked

Go back to the billing screen after completing the process. Look for a canceled state, an expiration date, or an explicit statement that the plan will not renew. Keep the confirmation email or save a copy of the screen for your records. An offer to pause or a feedback survey can appear before the final cancellation step; neither should be treated as confirmation by itself.

Paid access may continue until the end of the billing period, depending on the plan. Continuing to use a product does not by itself mean renewal is still enabled. Read the plan-specific guidance and use the actual account state to decide.

Refunds and charges after cancellation

Stopping renewal and reversing a charge are separate matters. Refund eligibility depends on the provider, store, purchase, and applicable rules. Use the official help route linked in your provider guide. If a new charge appears, compare its date and merchant with your saved confirmation and check whether you have another account or a separate plan. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt through its own support channel.

How these guides are maintained

Each guide identifies the official source reviewed and the date of that review. We paraphrase instructions and distinguish supported payment routes. Menu labels and policies can change; the provider’s current interface and official documentation take priority. We do not log into your accounts, cancel on your behalf, or guarantee a refund. Report an outdated step so the guide can be corrected.
